DECLARATION

ON QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM IN FREE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE

EANA, which represents European physicians in private practice, met in Bratislava on 21 June 2019,

and takes a position on the way to the recognition of the quality assurance system of established physicians in Europe.

EANA recommends that this system should :

-       represent added value for all self-employed physicians,

-       increase patient safety

-       ensure a high quality relationship between doctor and patient.

EANA insists that this system should be an incentive for doctors in private practice and should remain in the hands of their profession.

Finally, EANA recommends that this system should be simple, easily accessible and of interest  for all members of the profession in all their diversity.

EANA has learnt that various instruments are used in European countries and notes that, given their complementarity, more coherence is needed to achieve the desired objective.
