SELF-EMPLOYED PHYSICIANS IN HOSPITALS UNDER BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS

Self-employed physicians must implicate themselves and be implicated into the daily governance of hospitals where they treat their ( in-) patients.

Physicians are responsible for the quality of care which must abide both to high levels of internationally recognized evidence-based-medicine and to free  patient choices.

Hospital management must inform the physicians with regular financial dashboards about costs related to their activity.

Consensual and common goals must be defined in a flat hierarchy between self-employed physicians and hospital management.

Patients must have easy access to all healthcare services, including those provided by self-employed professionals. Patients should also be informed about all their healthcare expenses.

Politicians must assume their responibility by informing the public about the consequences of budget restrictions.
